It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kelly Gene Marcotte, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us far too soon on June 25 due to a tragic farm accident.
Born on December 22, 1980, to Ray and Lilly Marcotte, Kelly was the kind of person everyone loved. He had an incredible sense of humour and a sharp wit—though never before his morning coffee. His heart was enormous, and his generosity knew no bounds.
Kelly loved to travel, but his happiest places were always close to home: out on the farm, near the water with a fishing rod in hand, or simply surrounded by friends and family. He wasn’t one for solitude—he thrived in good company. "The more, the merrier" truly defined him, and he was always the life of the party.
After high school, Kelly worked in concrete, high-rise steel, and spent over two decades on paving crews with E-Construction, Central, and Acadia. Eventually, his heart brought him back home, where he balanced farming with running the cleaning plant. He also worked for the RM for a few years before settling into a role with his buddies company, McIntosh Sand & Gravel. He loved the opportunity to help them with their new venture and he cherished the flexibility they gave him, which allowed him to fully embrace the farm life he had come to love so deeply.
Kelly leaves behind his loving parents, Ray and Lilly Marcotte; his sister Raychel (Brandon) Moore; his brother Kevin (Jenna) Marcotte; nieces Jorja Moore, River Marcotte, and Aiyda Marcotte; and nephews Grayson Moore and Cash Smith. He is also remembered fondly by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who were touched by his warmth and laughter.
He was predeceased by his Grandpa and Grandma Marcotte, Grandpa and Grandma Evenson, Uncle Bruce Stephen, Uncle Bill Engen, Cousin Linda Engen, Cousin Amanda Baragar and Cousin Justin Gaja who no doubt welcomed him with open arms.
Kelly’s spirit, kindness, and infectious joy will be missed beyond measure but remembered always
