Obituary of Thérèse Marie Dubé
Please share a memory of Thérèse to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Thérèse Marie Dubé (née Grimard) was born May 22, 1932. She
was the eldest of 12 siblings. Thérèse spent her youth on the family
farm near Prud’homme. She attended Buffers Lake School from
grade 1 to 8. For her high school years she boarded at the convent in
Prud’homme. She attended Normal School in Saskatoon where she
obtained her teaching certificate and began her teaching career in St.
Brieux at 19 years of age.
This was also when she met the ‘spark-plug’ of her life, Wilfrid
Dubé. They married in August 1954. From this union, they raised
6 wonderful children: Bernard, Jackie, Claire, Norbert, Marcel and
Richard. Thérèse continued to work as a substitute teacher and at the
family businesses (Dubé Variety and Dubé Garage) as her children
grew. She was also a volunteer with many community and church
activities.
Thérèse was an amazing gardener, homemaker and excelled at any
handicraft she tried. She loved babysitting her grandchildren as
they arrived. She was a devoted caregiver to Claire and Wilfrid who
predeceased her. She was also predeceased by numerous other family
members.
Thérèse will forever be remembered by her beloved family:
