Obituary
Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

David Robert Taylor was born on January 24,1937 in a little shack south of Grandpa Herbert’s house to Howard and Adga Taylor. Dave had 3 brothers, Bill, Eric and Dick and 1 sister, Betty Anne. He loved his family very much.

Dave accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of 9 and was part of the Taylorside Assembly since he was 13 years old. Dave was very faithful and was a great testimony for His Saviour.

Dave married Marion Bertram June 6, 1959. They were blessed with 66 wonderful years together. They built a house on Grandpa Bertram’s farm, half mile south of Melfort. They raised their family, Rick, Joanne, Greg and Sheryl on the farm and still live there today. Dad was very proud of his family; his 4 kids, their spouses, 15 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. He loved to watch the children play and see what all they could do. The night before Dad passed away, he was sitting watching his family and he said, “I am a rich man, I have it all!”

During the winters of 1954-1957, Dad worked in the lumber mill east of Arborfield for Angus Miller. He farmed with Grandpa Bertram and they got along very well. Dave said they only had one argument in all those years. Dad loved being a farmer, a wheat farmer. Dave worked for Crop Insurance from 1972--2002. He loved his work, meeting farmers and enjoyed a cup of coffee.

Dad enjoyed farming with his boys, Rick, Greg and Jory. He treasured the coffee times, planning and working together. Jory and Lori built a house and moved to the farm and Dad was proud of Clayton, Hudson and Jameson how they are following in his footsteps.

Dave enjoyed sewing by hand with leather and fur. He made many mittens and slippers, some with the hides he tanned himself. Dad learned to play the piano a bit and loved music.

Many winters, Dave helped Jim Ronald Sr with Gospel outreach. He also helped Jim Webb up north in the Thompson area. They hung many Gospel texts on the walls in hotels. Dave said Auntie Blanche and Aunt Gracie were the ones who encouraged him the most. Dad loved to pick berries. He did so much meditating and praying in those quiet hours.

Dave learned to fly in 1975 and had a passion for flying. He loved flying remote control planes with his son, Greg. Dad so enjoyed watching Greg fly the plane 2 nights before he passed.

Dave had a great sense of humor and was known for telling jokes. He made people laugh. Dad loved chatting with family, friends and people he didn’t even know. He will be missed in so many ways, as one Grandson said, “I didn’t know how big the hole would be when Grandpa was gone.”

Dave was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Adga Taylor, his in-laws Robson and Florence Bertram, his brothers Eric and Dick, his brother in law Paul Kember, and his granddaughter Tiffany Jo.

Dad loved his family, who will all miss him so very much but will cherish all the sweet memories. Mom: Marion, his children: Rick and Sandi, Joanne and Kevin, Greg and Sue, Sheryl and Irving and all the Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Brother Bill and Sister Betty and Murray, and sister-in-law Gwen, sister in laws Phyllis, Georgina and her husband Ross.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. - JOHN 3:18

As for God His way is perfect. - PSALM 18:30
