Lena Miazga was born on November 12, 1930 on the family farm to Abram and Elizabeth Reimer.
Lena received her elementary education in Teddington School and went onto earn her teaching diploma from Saskatoon Normal School. She taught at anumber of schools including Dartmore Country School near Aylsham andMurphy Creek School at Maryville. She later started teaching in Gronlid,being the first teacher to teach kindergarten. She was a dedicated teacher andloved working with young children who fondly remember her to this day.
While teaching in Murphy Creek, she met Steve Miazga, married him and moved to his family farm. They had four children, Darlene, Gail, Coletteand Brad. Lena deeply loved her family and found her greatest joy in spending time
with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her gentle nature and patient heart made her a natural caregiver and
teacher. She was a life-long learner, always seeking knowledge and tryingnew things.
She worked hard on the family farm, tending to her large vegetable and flower gardens, and helping with seeding and harvesting. Her kitchen wasthe heart of her home filled with the comforting smells of fresh-baked bunsand scuffles.
Lena was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Steve, parents Abram and
Elizabeth Reimer, sister Eva and brother, Willie.
She is survived by her daughters Darlene (Kevin Wittmeier), their sons
Tyler, (Kayla), their son, Kalvin; Kurt (Amanda) their daughter Harriette;Matthew (Melissa); Gail Sather, her sons Brendan, Ryley (Kendall), Cole;Colette (Rodger Hayward) Tevin (Miranda), their children Jax and Nox;Connor (Courtney); and son Brad (Terri) their children Alex, Max andChase. She is also survived by her brother Henry Reimer (Sandra), brother-in-law, George Langridge and sister-in-law, Eva Reimer as well manynieces and nephews and other relatives.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the health careproviders of Parkland Place Care Home for their loving and compassionatecare extended to Lena.
