Arnold G. Holmquist
 September 12, 1934 - March 11, 2026

Arnold passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at 91 years of age.  He was born September 12, 1934, near the family farm 14 miles north of Kinistino and was the second youngest of eleven children.  Arnold attended Pahonan School until he decided to become a full time partner of the family farm. Farming and cattle were his passion; Arnold believed in hard work and had a wealth of knowledge. When his cattle entered the sales ring, the buyers knew whose they were.
In his youth, Arnold loved to play fastball with the Viking Monarchs and continued to meet people late into his life who still remembered his ball playing days! He was also an avid curler and spent many days, and nights at the Glen Mary rink as the primary ice maker.
Arnold married Fay Thompson in 1962 and together they welcomed three children; Carrie (Greg) Maxwell, Donna (Gilbert) Creurer and Todd.  He especially enjoyed when his grandchildren; Kristin (Brad) Redekopp, Melissa (Shawn) Dunning, and Adam (Mackenzie) Maxwell, Jensyn (Steve) Koroluk, and Jackson Holmquist came out to visit the farm.  Arnold had the great fortune of having three great grandchildren; Kane and Darius Dunning and Atlas Redekopp.  He will be greatly missed.  He was predeceased by his parents Olaf and Johanna; sisters Thora, Ruth, Dora and Sandra; brothers Per, Ben, Peter, Ernest, Ragnar and Elmer.
The family would like to thank Dr. Zerr and all the nurses and staff at Chateau Providence in St. Brieux for the compassionate care provided to our dad.  As per our Dad’s wishes there will be no formal service.  Memorial contributions in memory of Arnold may be directed to
