A Gentle Goodbye to Al Armstrong
We are deeply saddened to say goodbye to our Dad, Al Armstrong, who passed away on March 14, 2026, at the age of 86.
He moved to Calgary in August of 2022 and quickly became a cherished part of the Prince of Peace Manor community. Dad was known for his friendly wave, his warm hello, and the kindness he showed to residents and caregivers alike.
Even as his dementia worsened, his wit, gentle humour, and caring nature continued to shine through. He loved spending time playing pool, crokinole, and simple board games, and he never missed a chance to watch sports on TV. We kept him connected to his beloved Melfort by sharing posts from local organizations on Facebook, something he always enjoyed.
We are profoundly grateful for the time we had with him in these last years, and especially for the gift that he recognized and connected with family until the end. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
