Obituary of Angela Pauline Andersen
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Pauline Andersen (née Stenzel) on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the age of 60.
Angela was born on June 23, 1966, in Regina, Saskatchewan, to Kurt and Pauline Stenzel. She was the eldest of three children and grew up alongside her sister, Maureen, and brother, Trevor. Angela attended school in Regina before moving with her family to St. Albert, Alberta, in 1977. After graduating from high school, she attended N.A.I.T., where she trained as a commercial baker.
In 1988, Angela married Steven Andersen, and together they welcomed two children, Jill and Scott, who remained the greatest source of pride and love in her life. With icing on the cake, her family grew once more with the arrival of her cherished granddaughter, Everly Backus, in January 2026. Becoming a grandmother brought Angela immense joy, and she treasured every moment she was able to spend with Everly.
Following her separation from Steven, Angela made Melfort her home in 1999, where she lived for the rest of her life. She worked as a cook at Parkland Place before joining the dietary department at Melfort Hospital, where she worked until 2018. Angie took great pride in her work and was a dedicated leader within her local SGEU union, believing strongly in supporting and standing up for her fellow co-workers.
She enjoyed the comfort of home, the company of family and friends, and found a special kind of peace in watching summer thunderstorms. Fittingly, she passed after enjoying one of her favourite thunderstorms.
Angela will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jill Andersen and Scott Andersen; her son-in-law, Jordan Backus; her beloved granddaughter, Everly Backus; her parents, Kurt and Pauline Stenzel; her sister, Maureen Stenzel-Rogers, and brother-in-law, Rick Rogers; her brother, Trevor Stenzel, and sister-in-law, Rebecca Stenzel; as well as her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Angela was predeceased by her grandparents, Ernest and Margaret Hendrickson, and Reinhold and Berta Stenzel.
Angela’s love for her family, her caring heart, and the memories she created with those who knew her will be treasured always. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
