Ron passed away peacefully at RUH Hospital in Saskatoon on March 13, 2021 at the age of 80. He was born on June 5, 1940 at the Strandberg farm, north of Beatty. He attended Haggstrom School and completed grade 8. Ron entered the workforce at a very early age and continued to work until he was nearly 80, mostly as a meat cutter. Ron faced life’s challenges head on, and never wavered from having a genuine concern for others, a positive attitude, a great sense of humour, a generous heart, and a quiet faith in God. Left to cherish his memory are his son Wade (Shalamar) Nelson; daughters Debbie (Dave) Duesling, Brenda Bruce, Wendy (Keith) Casey, Lorie (Doug) Worthington, Trish (Scott) Bruce, Cori (Lloyd) Rudolph, Shae Nelson; and their respective families; siblings Joan (Karstein) Thompson, Eldeen Johnson, Lorne (Yvonne) Nelson, Les (Del) Nelson, Terry (Lorna) Nelson; and their respective families. Ron was predeceased by his parents Myrtle and Maurice Nelson; and brothers in law, Ernest Holmquist and Alvin Johnson. Due to Covid 19, a celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date.
