Doris was born on September 3rd, 1932 at the Melfort Union Hospital. She was raised on the family farm at Thaxted where she lived until she married Ken on September 3rd, 1951. Doris and Ken lived just down the road from the Thaxted School. Ken worked on the Dray and Doris worked at home. Doris worked hard all her life but managed to find time to spend with her family and friends. She also loved baking, shopping, and attending church. Doris leaves to cherish her memory her 5 children: Gilbert (Flo), Kathy (Doug), Charlotte (Jim), Christina (Denis) and Nanette (Darren) Grandchildren: Jared (Shelagh), Brett (Savannah). Justin (Anna), Stephanie (Jason), Jordan (Melissa), Curtis, Jeremy (Catelyn), Chad, Jessica. Mikayla, Kalan Kaden, Ethan, Paige As well as her great-grandchildren: Fyn, Sky, Hunter, Wyatt, Dakota, Rylan, Isabel and Kolt and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, her brothers Lorne, Cleo (Maureen)and sister Doreen (Reg). She was pre-deceased by her husband Ken, her parents Myrtle and Leonard Hunter, her in-laws Charlie and Margaret Soanes, as well as her sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Joe Lukowski and her daughter-in-law Julie Soanes.
