Obituary
Ella Annie (Rolles) Olson was born on Nov. 13, 1930 in Tisdale, Sask. She was the second of seven children born to Carl and Ethel Rolles. They lived on a farm in the Berlin district. Her eduction began at Berlin School and continued at Saskatchewan Lutheran Bible Institute in Outlook where she graduated from high school and then attended one year of Bible school. In 1952 Ella graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Paul's Hospital School of Nursing and began her 28 year nursing career at Melfort Union Hospital. On October 13th, 1954 Ella was united in marriage to Malcolm (Mac) Olson. They were blessed with three children ~ Marvin, Elaine and Connie, along with ten grandchildren. Ella was very creative and talented. Some of her hobbies were painting, sewing, cake decorating, writing poems and researching family genealogy. She was involved in Christian Women's Club, Covenant Women, and the Saskatchewan Nurses Association. You could also find her gardening, canning, cooking and baking, but her greatest joy was her family. Mac and Ella enjoyed traveling together. Ella passed away peacefully and beautifully at Parkland Place with her devoted husband at her side on June 12th, 2014. She will be missed, but we know that she is resting with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Left to cherish her memory are loving husband of 59 1/2 years, Mac Olson, son Marvin (Gwynne) Olson, daughters Elaine (David) Johnson and Connie (Mike) Erickson; grandchildren Josh (Robynn) Olson, Beate Olson (Iain Cropper), Lisa Olson (fiancé Matt Skretting), Sjoen Olson, Kjersti Olson, Mikkel Olson, Hanne Johnson, Karl Johnson, Ben Erickson, and Chris (Sarah) Erickson. She was predeceased by her parents Carl and Ethel (Gullickson) Rolles, brother Lorne Rolles, and sister Clarice (Rolles) Shipley.
