It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Iven H. Nielsen. Best known for hunting, trapping and his love the outdoors, he was also a collector of antiques and oddities. From a note in a bottle, to glass floats, an antique telescope and guns, Iven enjoyed the hunt. Born to Richard and Alma Nielsen, he was raised in the Melfort area. He spent several years in B.C. and eventually worked his way back home. No matter where he lived, he loved driving the back roads looking for deer, moose and the elusive elk. He will be dearly missed by brothers Harvey, Einar (Florence), sister Della (Glenn) Fulton, daughter Cathy (Stewart) Drader, grandsons Eric and Evan (Marina) Drader and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial contributions in memory of Iven may be directed to the Melfort Wildlife Federation and / or Parkinson's Foundation.
