Obituary
Anita Antonia Flegg (nee Hackl) was born on May 8, 1931 in Wakaw, SK, the youngest child of Anton (Tony) and Katherina (Kate) Hackl. Anita went to Hoodoo School, travelled to B.C to pick fruit and worked on the family farm. After completing Nurses’ Aid Training in Saskatoon, she worked in Climax, Windsor and Melfort. Anita’s dream was to be a wife and mother and on July 25, 1957, she married David Flegg in Melfort. They had 5 children. In 1980, they moved to Kelvington where they enjoyed the large yard and being close to the cabin at Barrier Lake (Anita taught herself to swim at the age of 50). In February 2018, Anita moved to Saskatoon and lived at St. Ann’s Nursing Home.
Anita is survived by her 5 children - Milton(Carol), Garnette, Ralph (Laura), June and Paul (Carolyn); her 5 grandchildren Anthony (Melani), Ryan (Chantel), Connor (Caitlain), Tynan and Cheyenne (Levi); and her 5 great-grandchildren Damien, Taneya, Eowyn, Amara Nita and Addison. She is also survived by her sister Cathrine and her sister-in-law Marion as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband David (2013), her parents and her brothers Oscar, Felix, Max and James.
