Obituary
Angel May Cann, 21, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 in Flin Flon, Manitoba. Angel was born in The Pas, Manitoba on Wednesday, April 21, 1999, the daughter of Andrew Cann and Shirley Martell. Angel was the middle child of her siblings, and was raised in Snow Lake, Manitoba where she attended Joseph H. Kerr School. Angel was a very lively and active child and a proud member of the Junior Canadian Rangers. Her junior girl’s curling team won the Manitoba High School Athletic Association championship, and as a young teenager worked at Simonhouse Bible Camp during summer break. In her senior years at school, Angel was very involved in extracurricular activities; serving as class representative on student council, and was a member of the JHK Tigers volleyball team. After graduating from JHK in 2017, she was accepted to the Hairstyling Program at MC College in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and moved to the “big city” that summer. Angel proceeded to excel at her studies, also taking a Makeup Artistry course. Angel graduated college in 2018 and accepted a position at Midtown Stylists, before finding her perfect fit at Tommy Gunn’s Barbershop. She dreamed big about where her career might take her, whether that meant owning her own salon, styling on movie sets or cutting hair in assisted living homes for senior citizens. Recently, Angel had interest in returning to school to further her education in a mental health field. Angel was a cheerful person so full of light and sunshine, and was gifted with quick wit and a masterful use of sarcasm. She always held a passion for visual artistry, as a child delighting in colouring and crafting. In her teenage years this manifested as a love for makeup, dying her hair every colour of the rainbow, and an interest in tattoo and piercing. Angel had an encyclopedic knowledge of country music and rocked cowboy boots under her “poufy-do” dress at her graduation ceremonies. She loved Winnie the Pooh, Starbucks, Slurpee’s, her red Dodge truck, and above all her beloved dog Sam. Angel was a kind and caring person with the biggest heart. Since she was a little girl, she was always the person who would laugh the loudest and would put other’s feelings before her own. Angel valued family and friends and had the special ability to make anyone who knew her feel included and so loved. Angel is survived by her father Andrew Cann (Shelly Wick), siblings Penny Cann (Adam Neuert), Landon Hiebert, step sister Lorelee Mathias (step brother Aaron Mathias and their children Harper & Cohen) and step sister Kim Friesen. Angel is predeceased by her loving grandparents Fred and Edna Cann. Andrew would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time. Your words of comfort and expressions of kindness are greatly appreciated. To plant Memorial Trees in memory of Angel May Cann, please click here to visit our Sympathy Store.
