Obituary
Sarah Edith Foster (simply known as "Edie") was born in Creelman, Saskatchewan on September 24, 1922. Due to the dirty 30s and its effect on farming in the south, her family along with her five siblings moved north and began farming near Kinistino, Saskatchewan.
When she finished her high school she continued her studies at Normal school in Saskatoon to become a school teacher. Thus began Edie’s lifelong career. Many who knew her knew her as their teacher. Some of these students remained lifelong friends with her. She taught at Queen Maude, Pine Bluff, Bonnie Hill, Two Rivers, a Saskatoon school, Crompton, Gronlid, and Kinistino school. She finished her teaching career at Kinistino, retiring in 1980.
Edie’s life depicted her desire to serve her Savior Jesus Christ. She served for years as a volunteer cook at Torch Trail Bible Camp (she had a tremendous love for children). She also ministered in her home church in various capacities including many years as a children’s Sunday school teacher. She was full of hospitality and very generous to so many.
Her hobbies were painting and flowers; her art can be found all over the country and she always saved a large area in her back yard to grow her beautiful plants.
Edith was and is loved by her family. Though she never married, she had a large family. She was an aunt, a grand aunt and a great grand aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Edie was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Jane Foster, her much younger sisters Ruby and Wilhelmina, her brother Howard (and spouse Louise), her brother Lake and her sister Elizabeth (known as "Toots") Breiter. She leaves to mourn her sister Ruth Foster, her sister Sheila (and Bernard) Mayerle, her sister in law Gladys Foster and her brother in law Normand Breiter. Also left to mourn are all her family of nieces and nephews.
