Dominique Marie Rocher passed away at the age of 100 years on August 16, 2021 at the Chateau in St. Brieux, SK. He was born on the farm on October 15, 1920 (a twin to Thérese) to Francoise (Blandin) Louie Alexis Rocher of St. Brieux. Dominique met the love of his life Jeanne Montes of St. Front in St. Brieux. They married on October 26, 1948. They started their life together on the farm east of St. Brieux. He farmed many years. They moved to one mile south of St. Brieux in 1956. While farming he took on many different trades including fixing furnaces and electrical. When it became impossible to buy land he quit farming. He worked for the village of St. Brieux. They took on the job of being caretakers of the school. He also was a school bus driver for 11 years which he enjoyed very much. He was the foreman for the building of the curling rink. He was the chairman of the church council, also a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. Dominique was a volunteer fireman and fire chief for the village. He enjoyed sports, hunting and curling. In his youth he was a long distance runner winning many races. He is survived by his wife Jeanne of 73 years, his son Marcel (Bernice) and one granddaughter Ashley (Jesse). He was predeceased by his parents, two sons and one daughter (Joseph, Francis and Helen). It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to Dominique, husband, father and grandfather but now he is at peace. Memorial contributions in memory of Dominique may be directed to the St. Brieux R.C.
