Obituary
Agathe Josephine Thebaud (nee Martine) passed away with family at her side on Sunday, November 29th 2020 at the Parkland Nursing Home, Melfort, Saskatchewan after a brief battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Therese, son-in-law Gord and grandchildren Darren, Devon and Trent; her son Jean, her daughter Claire and son-in-law Patrice and grandchildren Melissa (Steve) and Natasha (Dustin); Marie, son-in-law Kim and grandchildren Curtis (Holly), Corey and Kirk; great grandchildren Brooklyn, Addilyn and Owen. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters Margaret and Agnes and her brothers Jean and Pete and sister-in-law Gladys along with numerous nieces and nephews. Agathe was predeceased by her beloved husband Pierre in September 2011 and her son Edouard in March 2016, her sisters Therese, Marie, Ann-Marie, brother Joe, brothers-in-law Maurice, Alfred, Nick, Frank, sisters-in-law Henriette, Carol, Hazel, Adeline, her parents and parents-in-law. Mom was born on February 6, 1935 in Grand Clairiere, Manitoba to parents Francine and Hyacinth Martine. Once she finished her schooling and looking for an opportunity to start on her own, she left Manitoba and worked on a farm in St. Brieux, Sask. where she met Dad. Mom and Dad were married on February 15, 1955 and had many wonderful years together farming and raising a family on the Thebaud farm. Mom worked hard, helping Dad with the farming, tending to huge gardens and preserving food to feed her family. Once her family grew and left home, she would so look forward to having everyone back home for visits, especially during the holidays. Mom enjoyed making quilts for her family and as her grandchildren came along, she made sure each one had their own. But more than anything she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She made numerous items requested by friends or gave them as gifts. Each member of her family all had knitted items to keep warm during the cold winter days. In her last few years and up to the time when she became ill, she crocheted lap blankets and donated them to numerous senior homes and shelter. Her craftsmanship was impeccable. Mom enjoyed being around her grandchildren. She was extremely proud of them, and of what they have all become as they grew into a life of their own. As her great grandchildren came along, she beamed whenever she saw pictures or videos of them. A celebration of mom's life will be held at the St. Brieux Roman Catholic Parish on Saturday, December 5th, 2020 at 10:30 am. Donations may be made to the St. Brieux Roman Catholic Parish. . Because of Covid-19, only immediate family members will be able to attend but please join in the celebration of life via live stream. https://youtu.be/aYvZ2Fpn9EQ Agathe Thebaud Funeral (December 5, 2020) To plant Memorial Trees in memory of Agathe Josephine Thebaud, please click here to visit our Sympathy Store.
