Alain was born in the Kermaria district April 15, 1915. He married Elsie Piatt April 3, 1945 they have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. They farmed in the Tilly district southeast of St. Brieux till they moved to town in 2000 where they enjoyed a few years together before their health began to fail. Alain moved to Chateau Providence in 2010, 2 years after Elsie. Alain & Elsie were blessed with 5 children : Marie (Joe Petit), deceased in 2013, Marcel (Shirley) Rohel, Albert (Marlyane) Rohel, Helen (Wayne Kruger) and Evelyn (Doug Tarala). They have 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Alain was predecased by his granddaughter Elinor Rohel in 1975. Vigil of Prayer was held on Monday September 14, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. from the St. Brieux R.C. Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday September 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Brieux R.C. Church with Father George Canto as celebrant. Rite of committal took place at Kermaria Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Alain may be directed to the Alzheimer Society and/or Canadian Diabetes Association.
