Mom often helped with the daily farm chores, cleaning the cream separator, and cleaning eggs from their hatchery flock, while maintaining a farm home, cooking wonderful meals, baking bread and many dozens of cookies, and raising her children to be principled, responsible adults. When her children were older Mom spent many hours working on behalf of the UCW including Camp Tapawingo, foul suppers and funeral lunches. She also did Presbytery work. She volunteered for 19 years on the Kinistino Housing Authority board, performed church services in her later years at the three Care Homes in Kinistino and Weldon. For many years she organized and hosted at the farm, the Young Family Reunion. Jean is predeceased by her parents Tom and Marie Cleghorn; her husband of 60 years, Jim; Jim’s four sisters Catherine LaRiviere, Olive Boyd, Bernice Lipscombe and Theresa (Russel) Bacon.
