It was a few years ago now that I met and worked with Iris. I went up to cook in a mining exploration camp in the northwest of our province. Iris was there working in the kitchen as well. I was only there for about two weeks, but we managed to have some laughs and good times working together and spending what spare time we had together. It was a gorgeous area, in the late summer, with lots of berries to be found. By the time I arrived in camp, Iris already had a huge box full of blueberries she had picked. So we ventured out picking together, and she contributed to my stash. (I did give her a hard time about the amount of blueberries she already had frozen!!) Working together was easy, we settled in to a comfortable routine. We did communicate a bit after the job, I knew of her battle and she seemed to be facing it with strength and grace. My thoughts go out to her family, I knew her briefly, but she has remained in my memories. Dianne
