Obituary of Lee Oar

With deep sadness, the family of Lee James Oar announces his sudden passing on December 24, 2022. He will be remembered by his daughter Leila, parents Allan & Kathy, younger brothers Scott & Trevor (Chloe), his grandpa Jim (Gail), and numerous aunts, uncles, friends, & colleagues. Lee was born in Melfort on April 9, 1986; sharing a birthday with his Grandpa Jim. Growing up, Lee greatly admired and enjoyed spending time with his grandparents Jim & Betty. Lee never missed an opportunity to go up north fishing every year with his Grandpa, Al, brothers, and cousins. While he enjoyed the fishing, you could always tell his true passion on these trips was beating whoever he could at a game of Kaiser. Lee graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Chemical Engineering, with great distinction in 2008. He worked at the Co-op refinery in Regina since graduation until his passing. Lee had a great gift of being able to effortlessly retain information, solve problems, and have attention to all levels of details. Lee was also incredibly modest and hated any recognition of any kind, often wanting to pass the praise to others for anything and everything. Lee loved NFL Sundays, Fantasy Football, and the Titans. He also loved movie series in any genre, watching them maddingly on repeat. His greatest love by far was being a father to his daughter Leila. She will always be his first and last true love and best friend. While it was tough to beat Lee at any kind of card or board game, Leila could always find a way to beat her dad at a game of Uno. Lee was predeceased by his Grandma Betty, grandparents Anne & Frank, Aunt Brenda, and Uncle Les. A Private Family Service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined.
