Obituary of Yvonne Inez Padget
Please share a memory of Yvonne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Yvonne Inez Padget at City Hospital in Saskatoon on January 14, 2023 at the age of 85.
Yvonne was born to Albert and Pearl Padget in North Battleford on November 23rd, 1937. She was the only daughter of their four children and grew up alongside her three brothers on the farm in Sonningdale, SK. After graduating high school, Yvonne moved to Saskatoon to attend Business College. She worked at Canada Permanent as a Mortgage Foreclosure Administrator until 1988 when she was involved in a serious pedestrian accident, forcing her into retirement.
Over the years Yvonne enjoyed many interests, bowling, gardening, sewing and needlework, trips to the Farmers Market and dining out with family and friends. She spent a lot of time travelling with family to Calgary and spent summers camping together in her proudly owned tent-trailer. In later years she cared for her mother and the two spent many happy hours berry picking, taking trips to Kinistino and sight-seeing different parts of the province.
Yvonne was known for her kindness and generosity. She contributed to various organizations and charities throughout the years and always made a priority of giving back to the community. She was a member of the Western Development Museum and enjoyed many craft shows, Christmas dinners and events there with her family. Yvonne was the tiniest woman we knew, but the backbone in that tiny frame was strong and unwavering in her convictions and her heart certainly surpassed her size.
Yvonne was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Pearl Padget; brothers Gerald Padget, Lyle Padget and Stan Padget; sister-in-law Lynda Padget.
Her memory lives on with sisters-in-law Frances Padget and Pauline Padget; nieces and nephews Doug, Roland, Raylene, Mona, Tim, Marty and many great nieces and nephews. She will forever be cherished by close friends and family Kate, Audrey, Lynn, Tracy, Brad, Laurie, Deloise and several cousins.
Yvonne was a rock to those who loved her and will be remembered fondly. She touched the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her and holds a special place in their hearts. A more loyal and true friend will not be found again and she will dearly be missed. Family and friends wishing to make a donation in her memory may do so to the Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Graveside Service will be held at the Norden Lutheran Cemetery on Saturday June 3, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
