Obituary
Allan was born on March 30, 1963 in Melfort, Sask to Raymond and Lillian Klamot. He attended school in Tisdale, then moved to Kinistino in Grade 3. After completing Grade 10, he went to Whitecourt, Alberta for a short time, to work for Ronnie Chambers. Allan worked in autobody for a number of years alongside his uncles Ron and Dale. He attended Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon, studying autobody. From 1997-2004, Allan and Gina owned and operated Jughead’s Restaurant. Allan then started working for Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management in Fire Protection Services. Allan transferred into the Department of Highways, recently achieving his 20-year pin.
Allan loved fishing. He spent numerous hours at Anglin Lake at the family cabin, making so many wonderful memories, which he loved to reminisce about.
Allan married his best friend and true love, Gina Warkentine on February 29, 1992. They built a beautiful life together, which was made perfect with the arrival of two marvelous children; Jae-Lynn Rae in August, 2001; and Rylan Allan, in July, 2003.
Allan’s family was the most important thing to him. He spent countless hours supporting his kids in their many activities: hockey, figure skating, dance, football, softball, along with school sports and activities – it didn’t matter what the event was, he was just so proud of his kids and was there for them no matter what.
You could always be sure to catch a glimpse of Allan making many ‘laps’ around Kinistino with ‘Sister Sue’ and ‘Big Boy’; it was a part of his regular routine, spending countless hours with the kids joking and laughing. They were Allan’s pride and joy. Anything they wanted, Allan made sure he got it, and the kids knew their Dad would move mountains for them. So much so, if they really wanted something, they always made sure to ask Dad instead of Mom.
Allan shared a special closeness with his mom, and after his Dad’s passing, he spent as much time as possible with his Mom, which strengthened their relationship even more. Sunday mornings were dear to Allan, as he and his mom always spent time together.
Allan was dedicated to the community, helping out in so many ways, with so many different groups. But what he really enjoyed, was just the people. He loved to visit, have coffee, and most of all, joke and tease anyone and everyone. You always knew what Allan was thinking…no matter what it was. There were not many dull moments when Allan was around. With his quick wit, and plentiful nicknames for everyone, young and old, you were sure to have a good laugh throughout the conversation.
The family did not go on many vacations, trips or travel much…instead, Allan and Gina created a wonderful oasis in their own home and yard. They welcomed all their family and friends, and the kids friends – so many fun, wonderful memories were made around the house, pool or fire pit. Allan could always be found doting on everyone, especially with food. During the day or night, often Allan would disappear only to reappear with whatever snack he had whipped up – ribs, BBQ, "Mouse Dip" or smores – nobody ever went away hungry or thirsty if Allan was around.
Allan was pre-deceased by his father, Raymond Klamot; Grandparents Fred and Gladys Thorson; Grandmother Marillyn Hankins; Great-Grandparents Steve and Katie Buryniuk; Uncles Robert and Lorne Thorson; and Father-in-Law Alan Warkentine.
