Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Frank Charles Deck, 91, formerly of Brooksby, then Melfort, & most recently Tisdale, passed away May 14th in Tisdale, with his wife Barbara and daughter Penny by his side. He is also survived by his two cats, Cayenne & Coriander.

Born to Arthur & Winnifred Deck on April 29th, 1932, the youngest of seven children. He is also survived by his eldest brother, Dick, who at 101, still lives on his acreage in Langley; his sister-in-law Joan, who resides in Melfort, and many nieces and nephews.

He is pre-deceased by his elder sisters Alice Deck, Catherine (Harold) Tett, and Emma (Ken) McCelland and his elder brothers Henry (Joan) Deck and Syd (Martha) Deck.

Frank spent his life on the family farm. When a younger Barbara came to the community with the Anglican Church, it wasn’t long before they were engaged and then married. Despite the unexpected & unpleasant surprise of being delivered a beet sandwich instead of his favourite tomato sandwich while out harvesting, the marriage survived. Two years after their wedding in 1971, they were blessed with the birth of their only daughter, Penelope.

Frank was known for growing an over abundance of tomatoes, always having plenty to share. He had a dry quiet sense of humour which will be dearly missed. Frank’s fondness for cats lives on in his daughter, who has adopted the spice cats into her own home.

He was a devoted and faithful member of the Anglican Church, and taught Sunday school for many years as well as sang in the church choir.

He will be always loved and remembered.

A Graveside Service for Frank  will be held at the Norwood Anglican Cemetery In the R.M.of Willow Creek S.W. 6-46-16 West 2nd. on Saturday July 8, 2023 at 2;00 p.m.
