Obituary
Wilfred ‘Buck’ Kulchar
19-Sept-1934 - 26-Jan-2022
It is with profound sadness that the family of Buck Kulchar announces his passing on Wednesday January 26, 2022.
Buck was born in the family home near Struthers Lake, Saskatchewan on September 19, 1934 to John and Josephine Kulchar. Buck moved away from home at the age of 16 to work in the logging industry in Northern Ontario. He then spent many years working in the oil fields in Alberta and during made many life-long friendships and would always share stories of the time he spent there and the people he had met. Buck also spent many years as a CAT operator and when he started farming he continued to do that during the winters.
Buck met Hazel Pilling from the Glen Mary area and the two were wed on August 12, 1963. They resided in Kinistino and continue to farm near Struthers while they raised their children Roy and Jennifer.
Buck enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, watching his Leafs play and chatting with anyone who had a spare moment. His biggest joy was watching his grandchildren grow, play various sports and later to brag about how smart his great-granddaughters were.
Buck is lovingly survived by his wife Hazel of 58 years; his children Roy (Korene) Kulchar, Jennifer (Sheldon) Rheaume; his grandchildren Curtis (Katie), Aaron (Laura), Brooklyn, Jordyn and Jayda and Jordis Rheaume; great-grandchildren Lily and Quinn; sister Betty and numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws; nieces and nephews.
Buck was predeceased by his parents John and Josephine and brothers Bill and Lloyd.
Buck will be missed greatly and never forgotten. As per Buck’s wishes, the family will have a celebration of life in the summer of 2022. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Kinistino Cemetery.
