Obituary of Carson Garfield Richardson
Please share a memory of Carson to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carson was born May 25, 1939 to Alf and Ella Richardson in Ottawa, Ontario. That July they packed their car and headed west to Naisberry, Sask. Ella’s aunt and uncle needed help to take their crop off that fall, the plan to return to Ottawa changed and led to a life time on the farm.
Carson met Marlene Henning at MCI High school in Melfort. They were married in Sept. of 1959, and were blessed with four children.
Dad worked for the CN Rail for a few years then started at the Melfort Post office and worked there until 1978.
Dad was involved in all our sports that we played, he coached Todd and Doug all through minor hockey and then the Melfort TMS. Horse racing took up most of the summers growing up as Dad raced wagons and chariots, till finally Todd and Doug took over the reins.
When Jolene was old enough 4-H and gymkhana became a huge part of their life, all of these activities introduced Dad to a lot of life long friends.
His grandchildren continued to fill his life with so much pleasure as he travelled and never hardly missed any activity they were involved in.
Dads pride and joy was his family, they were his everything. Left to cherish his memory are his Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren
