Obituary of Stanley Wayne Pederson
Stan was born at Kinistino hospital as the only child to Julius and Myrilla Pederson. He was raised on the family farm but also spent a lot of time at the family sawmill located in the Fort a la Corne forest north of Kinistino.
He attended school at Falcon and Pahonan travelling by horseback, bicycle and foot. Those were lean years, and Stan was required to be involved in all aspects of the farm including field work, raising cattle, pigs, turkeys and chickens.
Stan learned to play accordion at a young age and became an accomplished musician. He played for many old-time dances over the years and loved dancing, especially to the music of the Cottonpickers.
Stan took a short-term leave from the farm to work but he always returned, and he took over the family farm from his parents. He continued actively farming with his wife Eleanor and son Ryan until he passed.
In later years, he built his own sawmill and spent many days in the bush harvesting timber. It was hard work, and he always enjoyed it.
Stan married Eleanor Holmgren in 1964, and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were inseparable and did everything together from farming, to logging to auctions sales and raising kids.
He was predeceased by his father Julius in 1979; his mother Myrilla in 1997; his daughter Shelley in 1973.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor, son Bob (Debi) and their children Evan (Shelby), Carlyne (Simon), daughter Kendra (Gord Mueller) and their children Mackenzie, Mitchell and Madison, son Terence (Theresa) and their children Jeremy and Jesse, and son Ryan.
Great grandchildren Maverick and Ruby
