Obituary
Anne was born January 29, 1930 at her parents’ homestead in the Gronlid area. She was the second youngest of 12 children born to Semion and Maria Kantymir. Anne lived her formative years in this close-knit community.
As a young woman, Anne enjoyed walking in the country with friends. On one of these walks, she met handsome Walter Welygan who had just returned to his parents’ homestead after working in British Columbia. This chance encounter was love at first sight (or so we’ve been told) and they married November 7, 1951. Anne and Walter started their married life at the Welygan homestead, moving to a new farm in the area that they purchased a few years later. Walter and Anne moved to the Melfort area when they purchased land north of Melfort in 1961.
Anne is survived by a daughter Joan, son Rick and daughter-in-law Sherry. She is blessed with five grandchildren Morgann, Nikki (husband Pat), Brett (wife Brittany), Jodi (husband Sheldon) and Scott (fiancé Kailene). She cherished her eight great grandchildren Keyanna, Dani, Sara, Katie Rae, Andi, Brier, Elwood and Edison.
Anne was a kind and gentle woman. She was forgiving, thoughtful and generous. She was honest and truthful. Family was always most important during her life. The love she felt and showed to all of us cannot be described in words. Her love flowed.
Anne was predeceased by her husband Walter in 2013 and their son Harvey in 1972.
